What are The Ex Outlet's selling fees?
There is no fee to list an item. If your item sells, The Ex Outlet charges a 5% commission fee.
How long is an item listed for?
90 Days. You can edit or delete your item at any time.
How many stories can I tell and how many items can I list?
As many as you want and as many as you want! We have made this easy for you.
How do I sell multiple items?
Big divorce or break-up? You can attach multiple items to one story. First Tell your story. Then add your first item (and up to 5 pictures!) and submit it. Then click "Add Another Item". Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Dating a lot of the wrong people? You can tell many stories and attach items to each story. Tell your first story. Then add your first item (and up to 5 pictures!) and submit it. Click "Add another item" OR "Tell Another Story." Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. When you are adding items for sale there is a "story" drop down menu so you can choose which story you would like to associate your item with. It's OK if you have tons to sell! Sometimes you must kiss A LOT of frogs...
Can I tell a story without selling an item?
Absolutely. If you are not ready to let go or you weren't left with anything to sell, simply click here to tell your ex-story or go to the stories splash page and follow the top link. Users can still give you their thoughts, advice, and support. It is still a cathartic process and when you are ready to move on and sell your gifts and reminders, you can post them with your story later.
Can I sell an item without telling a story?
Sorry, but no. A story helps us keep this a fun, authentic, and trustworthy community. EBay is a great place to sell if you do not want to share a story and join a community.
What items can I sell?
You can sell all gifts and reminders from an ex (husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, boss, friend, etc.). Click here for a list of prohibited and gross items that are not allowed on The Ex Outlet for legal, moral, and hygienic reasons. If we find something we think is inappropriate that is not on our list, we will remove it. Please use your good judgment when deciding what items to post for sale on The Ex Outlet.
How does shipment and payment work between a buyer and a seller?
The Ex Outlet only serves to connect buyers and sellers. The Ex Outlet does not handle shipping or payment transactions. Once both parties have agreed to a purchase they arrange the shipment and payment between themselves through our private message system. We recommend PayPal for purchases under $500 and Escrow.com for purchases above $500. When shipping valuable goods please make sure your package is insured.
