Tragic flaw...I dated a Texan!

Before all you cowboys & cowgirls get mad, hear me out…he was a flag-wavin’ Texan, celebrated Texas Independence Day, read Texas magazine, but he was a James Avery fan (read = some credibility). Alas, in our 4 years, I racked up some beautiful sterling from the JA dynasty. But since, I’ve ditched the Texan and upgraded to a Mississippi boy – my husband now, and he knows that diamonds are what we really want!

Lol this story makes me laugh, even though I consider myself very Texan (live in Florida now though) - we aren’t all bad!

My track record of learning the hard way certainly came to a crescendo with this “gem” of an ex! He gave me these diamond earrings on our first Christmas. Several years later I walked in on him…with a girl I knew…you got it…eh hem. Suddenly the countless out of town rendezvous and sneaky phone calls all made sense! So did running as fast and far away from this guy as I possibly could! I’m proud to say I’ve moved on, married and have a beautiful baby boy. These earrings are a memory I don’t want floating around!

Boyfriend "found" himself

When I started dating my ex, we were Sunday School sweethearts. He was a star on his football team, clean cut and as cute as can be. Over the years my boyfriend started going through a lot of changes, he began to grow his hair out, refused to shave and decided that Drama was his true calling. I probably should have taken the hint when he went away one summer for 6 weeks to drama camp and didn’t write me a single letter but somehow we continued to date for one more year. He broke up with me right before college saying things didn’t “Feel right.”

I checked facebook yesterday only to find that he was now in a relationship with the playwright for his drama school - the playwright is a boy. Clearly, it’s time to move on.

Over almost 3 years, I accumulated a lot of James Avery jewelry from this guy. This once meant a lot to me and I hope it can be special for you too.

Since The Actor, I’ve moved on to a great (undeniably straight) guy. No drama camp for this one!

Yours went to drama camp, mine went to spend the night a lot with his “Best friend” Mike :). At least you know now, before the amethyst was a diamond!
